So the pitch is set by your closest viewer, not your average one. The furthest viewer matters for a different reason: they set how physically large the screen has to be to read at all. Brightness is the other half. A panel that looks brilliant in a dark hall disappears in daylight: direct sun needs roughly 5,000 nits where an indoor show is happy with 800.
Panel figures come from a curated catalog. Extended specs such as brightness are indicative at product-family level — confirm them against the manufacturer’s datasheet before committing to a design.
